Cumberland Bike Share

Making car-free options available, and welcoming to Cumberland

Over the past decade, bike share has become increasingly popular in cities across the United States. Bike share provides many benefits for a community as a means of transportation and recreation.

In 2015, the Town Center CID launched the first bike share program in Cobb County. After years of success in the Town Center community, the Cumberland CID, in 2018, launched a bike share pilot program for Cumberland with two stations. The Cumberland Bike Share has since evolved into eight stations and continues to be a popular community amenity. 

Benefits of the Cumberland Bike Share

Economic Development

Bike share increases economic development, access to businesses, and shopping which is connected by the Cumberland trail network.

Reduced Emissions

The Cumberland Bike Share reduces car-dependence and gives bicyclists an alternative option for transportation.

Health

Bike Share promotes healthy activity and improves mental well-being.

Supplements the Transit System

Bike Share users can save money and use an on-demand system to save time and promote effenciency.

Ribbon Cutting for Galleria Gardens Bike Station

In May of 2021, the Cumberland CID launched a bike share station in the Galleria Gardens.

This station serves six class A office towers, a multi-family property, and the Cobb Galleria Centre.

The launch was a partnership between Piedmont Office Reality Trust and the Cumberland CID.

Bike Share Locations

The Cumberland CID has eight bike share locations that provide residents and visitors access to recreation opportunities and alternative modes of travel.

The Cumberland Bike Share has several partners including Cobb County, the Atlanta Braves Development Company, the Chattahoochee River National Recreational Area, and Piedmont Office Reality Trust.
